The sacred spring

Inspired by Kintsugi—the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold—

In this series, I photographed my friend Jing as she played her violin, turning loss into melody, motion into renewal.
Recently separated from a long-term partner, she finds herself in the space between loss and renewal, where beauty steps in to soften what has been broken. The flowers she holds become a quiet symbol of fragility and resilience—delicate, yet alive. A reminder that even after change, something new can bloom.

Like Kintsugi, our healing is not about mending—it’s about honoring the past while creating something even more powerful in its place. With music, with art, with color and with light.
